Visitors to Carlsbad can take moonlight tours of holiday lights along the Pecos River during Christmas on the Pecos Thanksgiving night through New Year's Eve. Coordinator Mike Cook with New Mexico State University's Rural Economic Development Through Tourism project says the pontoon boat tours are one of the most original and popular events in the Southwest.

"There will be a total of twelve 50-minute tours each night as more than 100 Carlsbad homeowners decorate their homes in spectacular holiday style with millions of colorful lights and displays along the Pecos River."

Cook suggests making reservations early, because tours fill up quickly. For more information, call (505) 887-6516. For N-M-S-U's College of Agriculture and Home Economics, I'm Anna María Pérez-Wright.
